Buche Noel

1 Sara Lee pound cake, frozen
1 small package chocolate chips
1 square bitter sweet chocolate
1 small carton sour cream
Rum, brandy or any liquor to taste or 1/4 teaspoon extract of rum, almond, mint, etc.
Slice slightly thawed pound cake into as many thin slices as possible (horizontally).
Cover with cloth.
Meanwhile melt chips and chocolate square over boiling water.
Add sour cream and flavoring.
Use decorative plate.
Spread each thin slice of cake with some filling, building cake up as you go.
You should have enough frosting left over to frost sides and top of cake.
With fork tines and spatula make frosting look like tree bark.
Decorate finished cake with appropriate yuletide color.

Serves 8.
"I usually make a recipe and a half and shape cake to look like a log with a small side branch. Freezes well."
"We have this every Christmas Eve. It's a tradition."
