Soft Orange Drop Cookie
1 cup shortening (part butter or margarine)
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons grated orange peel
1/3 cup orange juice (from fresh orange)
1 cup sour milk
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 325°.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and beat.
Add orange peel and juice.
Add to creamed mixture sour milk in which baking soda has been dissolved.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
Fold into liquid mixture.
Drop dough by small teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake until slightly brown on bottom, about 12 minutes.
Cool on wire racks, then frost with Icing.
