Mama's Leek And Potato Soup

6 cups water
3 leeks
6 small potatoes
1 tablespoon salt
3 tablespoons margarine
Peel and slice potatoes.
Simmer potatoes, leeks, salt and water for 40 - 50 minutes.
Mash the cooked vegetables and liquid through a food mill.
Just before serving, stir in margarine.
Decorate with chives.
