Squash And Apple Bake

2 pounds butternut or buttercup squash
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup margarine or butter, melted
1 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8-1/4 teaspoon ground mace
2 - 3 baking apples, cored and cut into ½ inch circle slices.
Cut each squash into halves, remove seeds and fibers.
Pare squash.
Cut into ½ inch slices.
Mix together the brown sugar, margarine, flour, salt and mace.
Arrange squash in ungreased oblong baking dish 12" x 7 1/2" x 2"; top with apple slices.
Sprinkle sugar mixture over top.
Cover and bake in 350° oven until squash is tender, 50 - 60 minutes.
